Paul Smith, CAE
Executive Director

Paul Smith started with the association in 2002. He has a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Utah Valley University and is a Certified Association Executive, accredited by the American Society of Association Executives. In 2010 Mr. Smith received the Paragon Award from the National Apartment Association and is a current member and past president of the Utah Society of Association Executives. Mr. Smith is currently licensed by the Utah Division of Real Estate as a Sales Agent and Continuing Education Instructor and a current landlord himself here in Utah.  His first exposure to the apartment industry was in 1996 as a leasing agent in the Salt Lake Valley. Mr. Smith enjoys the Utah outdoors skiing in the winter and hiking in the summer.
     
Michelle Wood-Peck Michelle Wood-Peck

Michelle Wood-Peck started with the association in 2015. She has extensive experience in office management, bookkeeping, and government organizations. Over the years she and her family have had considerable experience in the rental housing industry.  Mrs. Wood-Peck enjoys gardening and raising her chickens.
  Gavin J. Gilbert

Gavin Gilbert started with the association in 2014 after finishing a legislative Internship with lobbyist/law firm K.K.O.H. His time with the association has been focused on government affairs and customer relations. His first experience with association management was in 2012 and has continued that role with the UAA. Mr. Gilbert is currently working toward a degree in Political Science, Constitutional Studies, and his J.D. Gavin's passions include his Wife, Children, Family, Church, Basketball, and Golf.

Stephanie Murrell started with the association in 2018. Mrs. Murrell is very passionate about her work and has a vast professional history in property management, business management, and business consulting. During her free time you are likely to catch Stephanie spending time with her husband and son, or in the stands of a Real Salt Lake Game. 
Shelby Nelson

Shelby Nelson started with the association in 2019.  She has an ample amount of experience in customer service, property management and office management, but is eager to continue broadening her knowledge in the landlord industry.  Ms. Nelson enjoys spending her free time with her fiancé and young daughter as well as finding ways to express her creativity.
